College Road trip reflection 1. Describe what your experience was like this week?
My experience this week was unforgettable. I had the most amazing time going to colleges up north that I’ve never been to, to staying at the hotels and walking downtown the first day to get food and sightseeing a little. I’m so glad and appreciative that I got to go on this trip.
2. What differences did you notice between the different schools you visited?
The differences I notice from the 4 colleges we went to was that they all had different requirements when it come to applying for their school and what they were looking for. Also the main difference was the number of students attending the college and the number of students are in each class depending on the major.
3. How has this experience changed/influenced your ideas around college?
Going to visit these colleges didn’t influence my ideas around college a lot because I always knew that I did wanted to go to college and out of state, being away from my parents didn’t affect me, driving long distances to get home, being in a different city or culture, or being responsible for taking care of myself. At a young age my mom and grandma taught me to be independent while I was growing up. This trip just influenced my many options of schools that are around me and that I could apply to.
4. What are you looking forward to the most in college?
What I’m looking forwards to the most in college is all my different classes that I would be taking for my major and mostly being able to study in a different environment and going to the library.
5. What are you most concerned about for college?
What I’m most concerned about for college is if I would be able to get financial aid/ or scholarships. I would want to be able to enjoy college and not worry about going into debt and struggling to be able to pay for my tuition and or books.
6. Are you interested in Study Abroad?
I’m very interested in studying abroad. I believe it would be a good opportunity to take this offer and take full advantage of it since it would be good to go to another country or even state too see who it’s different and compare what I’m learning.
7. Did you hear about any clubs or organizations you would be interested in joining?
I think for the first year I would like to stay focused on my studies and classes and then later on join a club or two in something that would calm me done and not feel stressed.
8. What type of college (or trade school) are you interested in attending?
I'm interested in Culinary Arts, because I'm very good at cooking.
