Exhibition Reflection
English: In English my most memorable part was actually getting to create the letters or poems from my character during the renaissance. We stained them and put a renaissance look to them. By staining them it makes them look older. We wrote from the point of view of our character from the 1600s which was an interesting way of writing that we don't usually do in this era. Because back them it was middle age English so they would use Shakespeare type of words. My character was the almighty Donatello.
History: What I thought that was most memorable was that my character was a renaissance explorer/navigator in the renaissance. So cause of this I learned a substantial amount about the history in the 1600s and how my character affected life today in a positive way. I also enjoyed how we learned about history and daily life back in the Renaissance period. We learned about culture, customs, architecture, religion within the different empires and dynasties. One empire being the Roman Empire which influenced the Renaissance period a lot because they looked at what was done during the Roman era and tried to make it better.
Math: The part I enjoyed most in Math was we created board games that were relevant and that was played during the renaissance period. What interested me was seeing some of the different games played back then was transformed to a newer version that was created in recent history. We were able to create our board games from scratch using different materials and learn the concept of the game. The main part of this project in math was to learn the probability and chances behind the game.
Art: In art the part I enjoyed most was learning about several different artist that affected the renaissance period in a tremendous way. Some which were Pablo Picasso, Vincent Van Gogh, Michelangelo, Raphael and Donatello etc. We even watched a Dr. Who episode about Vincent Van Gogh which shows how he committed suicide. I learned a lot about the artist I studied which was Banksy who was a street artist and best know for hiding his identity. The best part of this was I created something similar to this artist's artwork with my art style which turned out very well and was a creative project.
Throughout the whole project I would give a 9/10 in a scale of challenging. For me what made it challenging was all the amount of time we had for this and especially how much reading we did in History. I think what made this challenging was the after school activities I participate in, I'm currently enrolled in the school soccer team. Something else that challenged me was the writing piece for English, this was challenging because we had to make it in old English which I'm not very familiar with because we live in modern times.
Some feedback I received was from my friends Pablo Toledo, Tray Harris, Coby Uribe and Matthew Arucan all helped me out with my writing piece for Mrs. Heller and they also critiqued my art piece which ended up looking really good. Their feedback was super good, they were very honest which helped me a lot.
